SECURITY TO THE CORE

FAKEAV winning Oscars 2010 Awards

Taking a huge advantage of current Oscar fever, malware writers/cyber criminals poisoned search engine results regarding the Oscar Award Ceremony. Whenever the user uses the search term “Oscar Winners 2010 live”  he’ll get this:-

Almost 70-80 percent of the results on the first page alone leads to the download of a FAKEAV binary, which is detected by Trend Micro Lab as TROJ_FAKEAV.ZZH and Symantec Lab as HTTP Fake AV Redirect Request

I request my reader and other users to take extreme caution while surfing these hot topics, as cyber criminals always uses these latest Blackhat Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in order to achieve their deadly (aka malicious) intentions.

Thanks for sharing the information. When will you going to start your own giveaway contest? I am waiting to have one license key of KIS 2010?
